GCN -- How does it allocate sessions

:Recently I was looking at the number of sessions running on each
:server. I was surprised to see 30 on one and 14 on the other.
:Further investigation showed that this was common.
:
:I decided to do something about it, so with various scripts the user
:gets assigned the least-used (in terms of sessions) as II_DBMS_SERVER.
:Now each server has fairly equal numbers. This does not attempt to
:do any load checking and assumes a fairly even distribution of work
:across the user population.
:
:But how does gcn go about its job?

In 6.4 the GCN returns a random server of the class requested. In 1.1
it maintains an association count and returns the instance with the
lowest association count.
