The correct way is copy out/drop/create/copy in. Yes, you can just change relowner. Make sure there are no grants on the table first, else you'll get it all confused. (Re-grant as needed after you change the owner.) Also, I like to stop and restart Ingres after messing with iirelation like that, just to make sure that the RDF cache isn't holding an old owner value somewhere. I don't recommend changing relowner; I've only done it when the table was gigantic, or when I was messing around on a lab machine that didn't matter. Karl R.
