The dbid does NOT have to match what's in iidbdb. However, if they
don't match, ipm will report strange things, such as the inability to get
lock info for the lock list displays, etc. If you are doing database
copying tricks, it's OK to manually update the dbid in iidbdb's iidatabase
table (you'll need +U).

What can get you into considerably more trouble are the other things in
the cnf file: the iirelation pointers, the next table ID number, the
journal addresses and journal file numbers, etc. If you are copying
cnf files around and trying to fake out ingres, it's a Real Good Idea to
stop; look very carefully at the infodb output, and pretend you're the
server. (Do I care about this number? what happens if that number doesn't
match? etc.)
