Error Message

~Subject: What is X in E_DM9043 and E_DM9045?

Hi everybody,
     
Does anybody know the meaning of the variable X in "with mode X" in the 
errormsg E_DM9043 and E_DM9045? We have seen the values 2, 3 and 5.
