If so I've had this problem as well. CA Tech. Support in the UK solved the problem by suggesting the following: (1) The Ingres installation MUST be via a local Ingres user as opposed to a domain ingres user. (2) The ingres user must have the folowing privileges added: "Run as part of the operating system" & "Ability to run batch???" or something like that. After following the above stop and restarting Ingres as a "LOCAL" Ingres user I/NET worked. Automatic startup of Ingres (as a NT service) must specific the ingres user as a "LOCAL" one. Riaz
