We have implemented a similar solution at one of our client site. However we are using ingres 6.4/06 on Hp Unix 10.10. You have to set II_GCNM1_LCL_VNODE="new host name" using ingsetenv before you start Ingres on backup m/c. This should fix the problem. Let me know if you have any other question on this. Gajendra : : I'm trying to install OpenIngres 1.2/01 on a HP-UX 10.20 unix platform : using MC/Serviceguard clustering software. The cluster is configured as : one "primary" server and a "Secondary/Standby" server, whos only purpose is : to take over the load of the primary server if the primary fails for some : reason. : : My intention is to install the OpenIngres software on the shared disk that : are normally owned by the primary server, but "failover" to the Secondary : node what the primary node fails. When I attempt to force a "failover" to : the secondary node I receive the following error message: : : No OpenIngres servers have been configured to start up : : This has something to do with the secondary node having a different "name" : than the primary node. : : Anybody out their have any experience with Openingres and HP-UX : MC/ServiceGuard that might have a solution to this problem. : : thussar@ppg.com : -- : The views expressed here are those of the author : and do not necessarily reflect those of PPG Industries, Inc. : -- ******************************************************************** Gajendra Jain DBA,TRIS Division Voice.(217)351-8250 Ext:2381 CSC CIS - TRIS Division Fax.(217)351-7420 2109 Fox Drive Email. gjain@csci.csc.com Champaign, IL 61824-0770 ********************************************************************
