However, some customers don't like using Free Software Foundation stuff. Good quality and low cost always bothers corporations and governments. I like GNU tar because: 1) Free 2) Less bugs than Solaris tar (query SunSolve for tar bugs sometime!) 3) Built in compression (your can use compress, gzip, or whatever) 4) Multi-volume tape support 5) Better error control 6) Dave Letterman uses it (just seeing if you read this list).
